What We Believe
Following is Unity Fellowship's Church Complete Statement of Faith, our belief in the Fundamental Biblical Truths found in God's Word

Statement of Fundamental Biblical Truths

  1. Scripture: We believe that the Holy Scriptures, faithfully translated into the Old Testament and the New Testament, are the inspired and infallible Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18
  2. The Holy Trinity: We believe in the Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Who are equally God. Genesis 1:26; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 28:19
  3. God: We believe in God as the one, true, eternal, and only living God who created everything. Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2. Matthew 16:16.
  4. Jesus Christ: We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He was born of a virgin—fully God and fully man. Through His life, death, and resurrection, HE defeated Satan, sin, and death, and we received salvation. He is seated at the right hand of God. John 1:1-2,14; Luke 1:35; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 7:25; Romans 8:34.
  5. The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, and He is God. He seals and indwells all believers. He convicts us of sin, guides us to all truth, and is our teacher, and our helper. HE will remind us of all Jesus said. John 14:16-17; John 16:8; John 16:13; John 14:26
  6. Salvation: We believe we are saved from sin and death by the grace of God, through faith in HIS Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way to the Father. We cannot lose our salvation but we can give it up by our actions and through our free will. John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 1:7; Romans 10:9-10; John 14:6.
  7. Marriage: We believe that marriage is between one man and one woman, that it is instituted by God, and that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage. Mark 10:6; Genesis 2:24; Mark 10:9; Hebrews 13:4
  8. Gifts of the Holy Spirit: We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and that they are still operational today and will be until Christ returns. The gifts are Administration, Apostles, Evangelists, Pastors/Shepherding, Prophets, Teachers, Discernment, Evangelism, Exhortation, Faith, Giving, Healing, Interpretation, Knowledge, Leadership, Mercy, Miracles, Prophecy, Services/Helps, Teaching, Tongues, and Wisdom. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11; Ephesians 4:11-12; Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 13:8-10.
  9. The Church: We believe Jesus Christ is the founder, head, and foundation of His Church. When Jesus returns, He will take His Church to be with HIM. Matthew 16:15-18; Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 5:27; 1 Thessalonians 4:17
  10. Baptism: We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is received the moment we surrender our lives to Jesus as our Lord and Savior, whereby the Holy Spirit comes and dwells within us. This is the baptism of salvation. We believe in and encourage baptism by water as an outward sign of obedience and our inward change. Acts 1:5; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Matthew 3:11; Acts 10:47
  11. Satan: We believe Satan is a fallen angel who rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven by God. Satan is the ruler of this world, but he and his angels will spend eternity in the lake of fire. Isaiah 14:12-17; Genesis 3:1-6; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:10
  12. The Second Coming of Jesus: Jesus will return from heaven, and the righteous who believed in Him will be resurrected to be with Him and will rise and spend eternity with Him. The unrighteous who rejected Him will be raised and will spend eternity in hell. Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; John 14:3; Matthew 25:34; Matthew 25:41
  13. Creation: We believe God created the heavens and the earth and everything in them. Mankind was created male and female, only two genders. Genesis 1:1-31
  14. Repentance and Forgiveness: We believe in repentance and forgiveness of sin. All have sinned and need to repent in order to be forgiven. Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:9
